Our practice schedule has been uploaded, as well as most of our match schedule. I will be continuing to add more matches and practices depending on time allowances. We have our first tri-match coming up on Saturday, January 27th at Penn-State Abington which is a little under 2 hours away. Please let me know what days are best. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- October 2nd, 2006 Our pre-season schedule has loosely been finalized. We expect to begin on October 19th. All practices will be held on Thursday nights from 8:30pm - 10:30pm in Walker Gymnasium. We are also planning on hosting a joint pre-season scrimmage tournament with the varsity team to be held November 18th. So keep that weekend open on your schedules. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- September 26th, 2006 Welcome back to Stevens for hopefully another successful season. We are returning all except 1 player from last year's roster, plus we are expecting a good turnout of new players for this upcoming season.   We are remaining in the MACVC conference for this season, but I am looking at some more competitive options for the future. I am looking to increase our competitive roster to 14 players, plus 3 or 4 reserve players. For nationals we would split the group (including reserves if they choose to attend) into 2 separate teams to compete in different divisions. This means we have about 6 to 8 spots open for new players who wish to play competitively. Finishing 3rd in the Silver Division, losing in playoffs only in the Semi-Finals to the eventual Silver Division champions. Our final placement was 19th out of the total 48 teams, while beating out higher seeded UW-EauClaire (10th), Ithaca (15th), and Haverford (27th).   We have finished our season with an overall 19-15 record in match and tournament play against collegiate teams. I look forward to yet more success next year in the MACVC Conference, and at NIRSA Nationals (to be hosted at Louisville, Kentucky). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 11th, 2006 Meet at the Vans to depart campus at 5:00pm today. We are guaranteed at least 5 matches, with up to 10 or 11, I think. This all, of course, depends on our performance in your pool and in challenge rounds/playoffs.   Salt Lake City, here we come! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 3rd, 2006 We have secured first place in our division with an undefeated 5- 0 division record, and a 9-2 conference record. MACVC Championships are coming up quick, followed in 3 days by Nationals. Be prepared for a busy couple weeks of volleyball! Get psyched! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- March 25th, 2006  Good wins against Haverford College and York College of PA today, even with missing our 2 starting outside hitters. Seemed rather unnecessary to go to 5 games for both matches. We'll need to work hard to clean up our unforced errors if we are to perform well at Nationals in April.   Only one tri-match left next Saturday, and then its Conference tournament, followed by Nationals. The season is coming to a close, lets make it as successful as we can. March 9th, 2006  Match vs Rowan has been rescheduled to Saturday April 1st, 2:00pm at home, in Walker Gymnasium. We will not be playing Gettysburg. We have added Princeton in their stead. March 25th we will be traveling to Haverford for a tri-match with Haverford and York, and the following day will be traveling to Rutgers - New Brunswick for their tournament. It should be a good weekend's worth of competition. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February 27th, 2006  Solid performances and strong wins against both Seton Hall and Lehigh University this past Saturday have boosted us to 1st in our division with an overall MACVC record of 6-2. We will have a chance to jolt further ahead in the standings this coming Saturday when we travel to Rowan to face Rowan and Gettysburg.   Also, please get your checks in for Nationals soon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February 19th, 2006  Great win against TCNJ, and a decently good performance at St. Joes Tournament this past weekend. We still have a good amount of matches until Conference Championships, so hopefully these experiences will help us improve more.   Our budget for Nationals has been approved. I'm sure we are all looking forward to the trip to Salt Lake City. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- January 27th, 2006  Good job on our win vs Penn State Abington. Although we were out of sync in the beginning and at other points in the match, we cleaned it up and won the match convincingly.   Our next competition is the Army Winter Classic in West Point, NY. This will be a much higher level of play as teams from all over the north-east will be attending. If you are unable to attend, please let me know. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- January 22nd, 2006 Our first match is coming up quick, being this coming Friday night at 8:00pm. If you are at all interested in playing, be sure to try to get to practice this week. Tuesday at the very least, but getting to both is obviously the better option.   We are still in the process of scheduling some more matches, and mainly they will be on weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun). Still awaiting verification from administration.   If anybody is available to drive to away matches, please let me know. You will be reimbursed for gas expenses. This will greatly reduce our overall expenses for the season, compared to renting vehicles and drivers.
